Today, I recorded my second podcast, JunkCast episode 2- Where to begin? I feel like my content was grand for the 3 minutes that it lasted, but I also feel like I was reading off of a script. My plan is to write an ebook that coincides with the content provided in the first season of this podcast. The information is there, but my presentation I feel is lacking. Now granted, this is my second podcast of all time, like… all time, so I guess that I shouldn’t be that hard on myself.
Here are my biggest struggles:
1) I feel like I sound like a robot- when I read from the computer, I feel like it is obviously scripted and it removes the genuine approach that I would like to provide.
2) They are short- my podcast today clocked in at 3 whole minutes. Granted, this was moreso by design as I did not want to breakdown everything piece by piece, but maybe I should have broken them down a little??
3) My neighbors started their louda$$ car mid podcast. 2 years running, still no new muffler. This too shall pass…
But I feel like these are my biggest accomplishments:
1) I did it- I didn’t make an excuse, I didn’t run from the microphone, I still recorded it and gained experience.
2) I added content-Yes, although not the proudest of content, it is still content that as I get better, I can look back and reflect on these.
3) I achieved my goal. I want to record at least 1 podcast a week for JunkCast, so boom! Goal accomplished.
I think I am going to start a “Life” podcast, with random tidbits and random thoughts from my mind. If nothing else, I will gain experience from recording my voice, and talking into the microphone, which is currently not the most comfortable part of my day.
Do you podcast? If so, PLEASE comment with some of your initial struggles, and how you overcame them. Any books that you can offer or blogs to check out, any content that you would like to share, even if it is your own, I will gladly check out and review with a link on here. Thanks for being awesome ps.
